liquid methyl potassium silicate-waterproofing agent
English name:Methyl potassium silicate
Apperance:Colorless or pale yellow transparent liquid
PH:13
Application scope:
This product is mainly used for surface treatment of stone, brick, tile, concrete, cement mortar, perlite, gypsum and gypsum board, as well as wood, etc. It can also be used as an additive for water glass.
Using methods:
1, Clean the substrate surface before use. Remove water, dirt, and other adhesives from the surface of the substrate to be treated. If there are cracks, use putty or cement mortar to fill them. The substrate surface should be flat, solid, and free of hollowness, looseness, etc.
2, Before application, slightly dampen the surface to be treated to allow absorption.
3, Dilute it to 3% or lower when used. If a concentration higher than 3% is needed, it must be tested first. Using a high concentration may result in white residues on waterproof surfaces.
4, The product can be applied using soaking, spraying, or brushing methods with a cloth, sponge, brush, roller, or sealant gun. It can also be mixed into concrete for use.
5, After coating, allow the treated surface to air dry naturally. Do not apply a second coat before the surface is dry. If used for surface protection treatment on stone or ceramic tiles, wipe off the excess liquid with a soft cloth before the surface is dry using water. Keep the surface away from water for at least 24 hours for maintenance.
Important Notes:
1, Before using, it is recommended to conduct a small sample concentration test to determine if the concentration is suitable for your specific use.
2, This product is highly corrosive and must not come into contact with skin directly. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with water. If it comes into contact with the eyes, rinse with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately. This product can also damage or kill plants, stain or corrode glass, plastic, aluminum, and most metals. Extreme care must be taken when spraying, as it should be avoided near plants or items coated with waterproofing agents. It should be stored out of reach of children when used for home decoration. However, the alkalinity of the product disappears after the coating dries, and it is harmless to humans.
3, If the waterproofing agent is mixed too heavily or used excessively, a small amount of white sediment may form on the coated surface after drying. If it cannot be washed off or removed with a cloth, the surface will need to be scraped to remove it.
4, If the temperature is too low in winter, the product may experience a crystalline structure freeze. Heating it back to room temperature will restore the solution to a transparent state, and the active ingredient will not be damaged, allowing for continued use.
5, It is recommended to wear protective gloves and goggles during construction, and to avoid inhaling the gas produced by the product when working outdoors. In case of spraying or misting in enclosed spaces, local ventilation is advised.
